I have been a doula since 2003, attending births at home and at the hospital. I am a member of CAPPA, DONA International and Colorado Doulas. My experience includes unmedicated vaginal birth, unplanned & planned cesarean, twins, breech, single and teen mothers, and birth after a loss. After giving birth to my daughter in 2001, I became even more intrigued about the birthing process and how the laboring woman, her mind, and body work together during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. From the growth of my personal education, a fascination developed into an incredible passion for helping birthing women and their families create fulfilling birth experiences. I believe that every woman can achieve a positive birth experience, feeling strong, powerful, and in control of her mind and body during this time; I believe birth is a natural event and that women's bodies should be encouraged and allowed to work the way they were created to. I feel blessed to be a witness to women of all walks feeling strong and confident as they give birth. As your doula, I will provide you and your family before your baby is born with constant support and information, support once your labor has begun until after the baby is born, and I also provide postpartum support including breastfeeding help, and baby and mother care. I believe it is very important to remember your birth, and to help preserve your experience, I document your labor and birth for your records. This time in life is so precious and so important, and it is my desire and joy to help the birthing woman achieve and preserve their miracle.
