As a mother of three, and a certified doula for the last 10 years, I know how important it is to find just the right person to assist with your labor and birth experience. You don’t want to invite just “anyone” to the birth of your baby. I feel that providing doula support to a woman, her partner, and her family, through the labor and birth experience, is extremely valuable to all that attend or participate in the life changing journey; as it will leave an indelible mark on each of them forever. The value is evident not only in the birth process but in the lifelong friendships that develop right along with the expanding waistline of the mother. There is value in the trust that builds between one another through the months of questions, concerns, anxiety and the apprehension of what’s to come. In the end, there is never ending value in the bond that now ties the doula to the family for a lifetime.
As an accentuation to your birthing team, I am there to assist in any way I can to help you have the birth you are hoping for. I have experience with natural births, epidurals, VBAC’s, cesarean sections; planned and unplanned, multiple births and births involving high risk mothers. I don’t believe that there is a “right or wrong” way to give birth, and respect all choices made in your labor and birth experience.
In addition to the typical doula services, I also document your journey through birth with photos and a birth story for you and your child to treasure for years to come.
