The day your child is born is one that you will cherish and remember the tiniest details of for the rest of your life. Having a Doula at your birth is one of the most positive steps you and your partner can make to ensure that your experience and the memories surrounding it are filled with joy, knowledge, and satisfaction.

The concept of using a Doula at the birth of a child is an ancient one. In days past, when a woman birthed her baby other women gathered around her, giving her strength and comfort. They understood her and the birthing process and celebrated with her for they too, had experienced the awesome power of birth. It is with this tradition that I lay the foundation of my service.

As a mother, I have experienced birth in two very different ways. I had a very high intervention, scary birth with my daughter, and an extremely peaceful, empowering birth with my son and my Doula, Mary Anne. After my son was born, I knew that the gift of an amazing birth is one that needs to continue to be given.

I am a certified birth Doula through Doulas of North America, a Certified Breastfeeding Educator, and a member of the Colorado Doula Association. I am trained in Bradley Childbirth, Lamaze, Hypnobirth and the typical hospital classes and find that a combo of all of them is often beneficial during a birth. I have had the honor of attending many various births in homes and hospitals including Cesarean births, VBACs, breech births, twin births, epidural births and unmedicated births, the birth of a woman's first baby, and the birth of a woman's sixth, and everything in between. This is truly an amazing job! I witness a miracle every time I go to work!
